Art Hire Framing

Fine Art Picture Framing since 1988

 about

Art Hire Framing was established in 1988 by Mark Greer, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art’s prestigious Fine Art Department, with the aim of providing the highest quality hand finished frames to artists, galleries and collectors.

25 years on, Art Hire has become Scotland’s largest fine art framers and gilders employing 9 skilled craftsmen including 4 Glasgow School of Art graduates. Between them the team has amassed over 150 years of professional framing experience.

The pursuit of excellence has led to an impeccable reputation mirrored by an enviable list of artist clients that reads like a who’s who of Scottish art, as well as internationally renowned interior designers, corporate and private collectors.

Whilst undertaking some of the largest and most complicated framing jobs in the country, no customer is ever turned away. From students to international artists, novice collectors to top municipal museums, framing posters for a first flat to 5 star hotels, all are welcome to experience the friendly, professional and highest quality framing for all budgets that Art Hire offers.

artists choice

Artists come to Art Hire and have chosen to stay with us because of the quality and care that we take in creating all kinds of frames wether it be a simple painted frame for a small drawing or a bespoke frame which is measured in tens of feet.

Picture frames that have left our premises in the hub of the artists’ community at WASPS Studios in Hanson Street, Glasgow have included huge, guilded bespoke frames for Peter Howson, whom we have worked with for many years. Art Hire are proud to create frames for several other respected artists including Ken Currie, Helen Flockhart and john Bellany to name just a few.

Art Hire also work with and support artists from all areas of the Scottish art-scene and have been invoved with sponsorship and funding various awards over the years.
